Dr. Chanelle Lawson

Dr. Chanelle Lawson has over nineteen years of experience working with adults and adolescents dealing with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, serious emotional and behavioral disorders, and developmental disabilities.
She holds a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling and Chaplaincy and is dedicated to offering individuals a helping hand out of the despair of mental health challenges and addiction through support, education, counseling, group therapy, and referrals.
Dr. Lawson is a Certified Life Coach, Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC), Level II Certified Alcohol and Drug Coordinator (CADAC II), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with the IC&RC board, and a Certified Behavior Specialist through the TN Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
She also serves as a Stephen Minister, a Spiritual Care Volunteer at a Women’s Hospital, and is affiliated with various mental health foundations, coalitions, and organizations.
Dr. Lawson has extensive experience working with clients of all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses. She has successfully completed cultural competency training and maintains positive relationships with organizations dedicated to serving children and families. She has developed strong connections with various mental health and substance use providers, schools, juvenile probation, and adult probation services.

Believing that whole-person healing and trauma recovery are key components to building healthy communities, Dr. Lawson's current initiatives focus on bridging the gap between faith-based communities and mental health and addiction recovery, as well as addressing individual and family trauma recovery to build healthy and sustainable communities.
